It’s true, Christians live and breathe in the reality of Jesus’ work on the cross and the reveal of the empty tomb on a daily basis. Taking time to reflect, however, on the event annually gives us pause to recalibrate our hearts and time, treasure, talent to the purposes of that which we hold most dear. Familiarity can breed contempt… or just apathy… so it’s an exercise in focus and self-discipline to draw near and reflect on the heart of Easter weekend. Here’s how we’re doing it this year at Refuge.
***This will also be the singular time to partake in communion with us on Easter weekend.***
Maundy Thursday commemorates the last night, and Last Supper, of Jesus Christ with the Apostles as described in the Canonical gospels. Join us for this special service headed into Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Contemplate the crucifixion and accomplished work of Jesus Christ on the cross with a sober tone, music, readings, and time for reflection. All are welcome.
CHILDCARE PROVIDED at the 6:30 service – we also have an 8:30pm GF service (w/o childcare)
The bunny is BACK! Children Ages 2 – 11 are welcome (with their families to cheer them on!) as we host egg hunts for various ages with prizes, games and more. Invite your friends and neighbors and join us Easter weekend for this fun community event! We’ll also be collecting donations for The Nourishing Network – bring single-serving food items for needy schoolchildren. What to bring? Like and check out their facebook page –https://www.facebook.com/
Designed as a complement to our main Easter service at 10am, come early for scripture and song as the sun rises in our outside amphitheater – a great way to celebrate the empty tomb and great work of Jesus Christ. Then enjoy breakfast with friends and join us for the main event at 10am! This is NO April Fool’s… He is risen! He is risen indeed. Celebrate with us… the resurrection of Christ, reconciliation with God our Father, and the triumph over Satan, sin, and death.
May God enrich your soul this year by his Spirit through the grace shared in Christ Jesus.
